Evanescence
The exclusive Bar and Restaurant in the Symetra Club at The Climate Pledge Arena is absolutely beautiful. Check-in was easy, and the Clear app was an easy and convenient way to make sure everyone was fully vaccinated, making it much safer. Halestorm as always was rocking and righteous! The opening band Plush were amazing. Those are some seriously talented women. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable. Lzzy Hale is a master. Then there was Amy Lee and Cirque Dreams... I was in Prime seating. Her tone has mellowed and is even richer than before. She is one of the best female vocalists I have ever heard. There are not enough words to describe the absolute Majesty of her voice. It was an absolutely Amazing night!
Rod Still Rocks
Rod, despite appearing a bit old these days, still manages to put on a great show. He was all over the stage along with his band and 3 backup singers, performing his old hits and one selection from his upcoming Motown tribute album. The audience sang along with him on most of his songs, as he genuinely connected with them, thanking them for spending so much money to come see him during these tough economic times. He showed a video of his dog, kicked autographed footballs (soccer balls) out to them, shook front row hands, and more. His last costume change was Western wear, complete with a cowboy hat that looked ridiculous on him, but he appeared to have fun with it. In fact, he seemed to be having a great time, thanking the women who threw panties and roses on stage, mentioning it had been a long time since he had had "knickers" thrown at him. All in all, a very enjoyable and energetic performance. The old boy still has it.
